Sulphuric Acid Production Methods
Industrial Sulphuric Acid is primarily produced through two main processes:
- Sulphur Burner Process
Sulphuric Acid is produced by burning elemental sulphur to generate sulphur dioxide (SO₂), which is subsequently converted into sulphuric acid through catalytic oxidation and absorption processes. - By-Product Method
Sulphuric Acid is produced from sulphur dioxide (SO₂) gas generated as a by-product of metal smelting operations, such as copper, zinc, or other non-ferrous metals.
